kiss everyone and everything, May 9, 2023
by egostat (Purgatory of Social Ineptitude)

This is one of the most entertaining things I've come across. I'm glad that I've finally achieved my dreams of (Spoiler - click to show)kissing cocks in this game. It was surprisingly short but had a very unique setting and idea.

After playing for a while, I discovered 15 endings... However, after wandering back into this review section and reading the other reviews, I have noticed that I have missed the (Spoiler - click to show)"Keep Your Friends Close and Your Kielbasa Closer" ending. I'll have to find it another time, though, as it is getting quite late as I am writing this. I adored the dialogue and my trusty motley. Maybe I'll continue trying to find even more endings in the meantime. (Spoiler - click to show)Surely there must be something more significant to being able to speak with Matilda and dab blood on my forehead. I'm also curious if there's any way to hear about the specifics of the rumor.

As I finish this review, it is approximately 45 minutes past the beginning of April Fools Day.

Edit (5/9): I am delighted to announce that I replayed the game today and successfully uncovered the 16th ending I was missing!

Kids, don’t eat your Halloween candy without having your parents inspect it first because there are SICKOS out there who will put RAZOR BLADES in it and you will CUT YOUR MOUTH and GET A POISONED INFECTION and DIE, all from eating your candy early. So don’t do that., by Dan Shiovitz

Solid short fun, April 26, 2023
by egostat (Purgatory of Social Ineptitude)

I finished this game quite quickly. I love mystery games with mechanics like these, and was excited to see all the little details I could pick out. I also enjoyed the small interactions that the characters would have with each other. The only point I'm picking at is that the ending felt a bit... rushed. I guess it's just that I would've liked more buildup and more chances to catch contradictions. Still fun, though!

Interesting concept, limited execution, April 2, 2023
by egostat (Purgatory of Social Ineptitude)

While I did enjoy the concept of controlling the story through a command bar, the story was unfortunately much shorter and bare-boned than I expected. I think that, if the author had done more with this, it could have been an incredibly interesting experience, but my actions were limited. It's possible that I was also missing something, but ultimately, from what I saw in this, there was not much to it.

Listen., April 2, 2023
by egostat (Purgatory of Social Ineptitude)

Wow. The atmosphere in this game is incredible. I hadn't really read the reviews or anything else before I began, so I was definitely shocked when it took such a sudden swerve. The way the protagonist talks to others in their head is mildly unsettling and the background details were as well, to say the least. It made me curious and want to find out more about the story. The tension in the last scene especially made me feel incredibly nervous. I loved it!

It just kept getting better., April 2, 2023
by egostat (Purgatory of Social Ineptitude)

I adore the characters, all the twists, and all the interactions. This was possibly one of the text adventures in which I became most attached to its characters—Tuck especially. It's difficult writing this review without any spoilers, but it was a pleasant surprise playing through this, even if my awkward clown brain couldn't figure out what to do next quickly enough at times. It took a while for me to get used to the frustration of not being able to do much by myself due to my form as a pig. The side romance is very cute, by the way. And the ending is unbearably cute. (Spoiler - click to show)Unfortunately rest in war, Ser...

A review for my second ever text adventure, March 31, 2023
by egostat (Purgatory of Social Ineptitude)

I remember being new to text adventures and playing this after painfully crawling through the Dreamhold, and it was a well-needed break that really got me pumped for finding future text adventures. I often need breaks, and during those I enjoy more light-hearted stories like this one! It was funny and simple to get through. I adored the characters and the dialogue between them. Grunk was the love of my life and probably still is. I would read a fully fledged novel on these characters.

I really should replay this soon.

Delightful even while barely awake., March 31, 2023
by egostat (Purgatory of Social Ineptitude)

Sorry in advance for my wording. I am writing this at about 2:30 A.M.

I went through this story in its entirety, starting at about 1:30 A.M. Despite being exhausted due to my consistently awful sleep schedule, I thoroughly understood and enjoyed this playthrough

I have a huge thing for grotesque, surreal stories, and this one just hit every spot! The descriptions were elaborate but easy to understand. Every new discovery was somehow managed to be unexpected. The narrator's dialogue, especially as we progress through each course, becomes more and more uncomfortable to read, and I am really into that.

The puzzles themselves are quite easy, and even someone like me, who is a thick-headed novice when it comes to text adventures, got through it without much trouble.

All in all, this was a fun time-killer that I'd definitely recommend to anyone who is not eating at the moment! I think I have to take a break from cheese in general... thinking about biting into a bloated corpse leaves a nasty taste in my mouth.

(Spoiler - click to show)One night another starving soul will dream a road to my castle, and I'll dress every chamber with candy, fly bacon standards from spires that stretch into the stars. As long as stomachs grumble, mouths must eat. We'll always have a feast.
