Adorable, February 25, 2014

A very cute story about some kids going trick-or-treating on Halloween. A very short CYOA-game, one of the endings can be reached after a short time -- but there are different endings, so it even has replay value.
The game was written by a young Miss with some help of her father (also an IF author). It has to be mentioned that the storyline is pretty much her own creation. Of course it contains some fantastic moments, but that's fairly okay -- to be honest, I felt reminded of some R.L. Stine story, so nothing wrong with that.
I also liked the numeration of the pages -- it conveys the feeling of the old Fighting Fantasy books (in case anyone happens to remember those).
So cheers to Adelynn and her first work.

Messy but charming, December 14, 2013
by Molly (USA)
A Trick-or-Treat Adventure is a simple CYOA that was made by an eight-year-old with some help from her father. Like most works written by children there's a kind of messiness about the plot and writing; sometimes it feels like there are too many ideas being deployed at once. But having too many ideas isn't the worst flaw a CYOA could have, and for the most part the game is clear and easy to understand. And there are some lovely observational bits scattered throughout the game that offer up a child's eye view of the rituals and etiquette of Halloween. Overall A Trick-or-Treat Adventure is a short, charming, and funny game. If you don't mind some chaotic bits in your CYOAs I would highly recommend giving it a shot.

Child authored IF by Hulk Handsome
It's incredibly unlikely to find a game created by a child (12 years or under) that's actually well made, but they can still be enjoyable. It's fun to see a young ones imagination run wild, limited only by their... likely poor coding...
