I'm a mathematical logician with a background in philosophy, rekindling an old love of IF. The eventual goal is to write IF myself, given that the medium has such a cool potential for exploring mathematical puzzles and ideas. Currently, though, I'm just toying around with the basics of Inform behind the scenes.
Criteria for my reviews:
Five stars means a game is perfect, or has such interesting elements that some minor flaws are easily overlooked. Five stars usually also mean the game is of my personal all-time favorites. Four stars means the game is amazing, but just shy of perfect, ususally for some particular reason. Three stars means the game is anywhere between good and amazing, but just not quite in the same "tier" as other four-star games, which are often the some of the best games of all time. I try not to rate games that might be lower than three stars - two stars is bad, one star is awful.
