Very simple, and requires patching, November 3, 2020

The version in the VMC10_073D zipfile is missing an essential initialization step, preventing the player from making progress in the game. This can be fixed by adding this line to the BASIC after loading the game from the tape, before running it:

160 o(1)=12:o(2)=6:o(3)=5:o(4)=4

I don't have the original magazine source, so I don't know if it was missed when transcribed onto the cassette tape image, or was missing from the article either accidentally or as an exercise to the reader.

A later version of this game for 16-bit PCs, fully functioning and slightly improved, is at archive.org.

As for the game itself, the writing is generally dull and the room descriptions are extremely spartan. The map is small and the gameplay simple even by TRS-80 game standards, and the two puzzles (when not absent due to not being initialized) are rudimentary.
