1. Gaia, Živa, Jarilo, by Harkness (as Formless) (2020)
Average member rating: (5 ratings)
David Welbourn says:

In this work, you are an Earthling tourist visiting a zoo on Živa which features animals from three worlds. Explore the place at your leisure. There is no goal you must accomplish, and although the work has its secrets, the only puzzle you must solve is the mundane exercise of buying a wristband at the entrance.

2. Frankenstein's Legacy, by John Olsen (1992)
David Welbourn says:

In this horror game, you play as Victor Frankenstein's last living relative. He's invited you to the family estate so you can assist him in bringing his newest creature to life.

3. You Are Here, by Roy Fisher (2001)
Average member rating: (3 ratings)
David Welbourn says:

In this game based on a theatre play, you play as a guest adventurer in a virtual world called a Multi-User Dungeon, or MUD for short. After readying yourself with some clothing and a weapon, join a quest and complete it to become a full certified adventurer.

4. Hero, Inc Part 1: Calling All Heroes, by Nate Cull (1996)
Average member rating: (2 ratings)
David Welbourn says:

You play as J. Random Hero, Fairhaven's newest hero if you answer the call to duty from Hero, Inc. by entering their contest and performing several feats of heroism. Don't wait! Enter the contest now and you may win their Grand Prize!

5. The Frenetic Five vs. Mr. Redundancy Man, by Neil deMause (1999)
Average member rating: (8 ratings)
David Welbourn says:

In this game about under-powered superheroes, you play as Improv, leader of the Frenetic Five. You use common objects in surprisingly useful ways. While queueing for stamps at the Post Office, you receive your new mission: stop Mr. Redundancy Man's plan to entangle the world in red tape. His secret HQ is in the copy shop.

6. Atrocitron, by Michael Martin (2016)
Average member rating: (1 rating)
David Welbourn says:

In this small abstract game, you could be anyone carrying a ticket with a randomly-chosen number. A sign above the exit door has a different randomly-chosen number. But waiting for the number to change won't work. Perhaps you should explore your environment and make a few changes?

7. Four Days of Summer
by David Welbourn
(2017)
Average member rating: (2 ratings)

David Welbourn says:

In this pleasant and silly game, spend the first four days of July with your friend David, a shameless author-insertion character who seems inordinately fond of making interactive fiction references.

8. Foreign Soil
by Olaf Nowacki
(2020)
Average member rating: (12 ratings)

David Welbourn says:

In this very incomplete game, you play as a pilgrim to another planet. You were the first to be revived from stasis when your spaceship landed, and it's now your job to turn the crater you landed in into something habitable before waking up the other pilgrims.
