Best of ADRIFT 5

Recommendations by Denk

The following games are in my opinion the best ADRIFT 5 games. The games I like most have been given the highest position, except for Larry Horsfield's games, which would have taken all places in top 5, if I had not distributed them throughout the list.

My favorite ADRIFT 5 game. Lots of spells and ingenious puzzles. This game is a significant upgrade of an old spectrum adventure by the same author.

Denk says:

A highly original game with an untraditional parser. Use some time to learn the mechanics and you will be rewarded.

3. The Lost Children
by Larry Horsfield

Denk says:

Last game in the Alaric Blackmoon series, and also one of the best. Use your money wisely when equipping you for your quest.

Untraditional but fun. Expect to use some time learning the game mechanics.

5. The Axe of Kolt

First game in the Alaric Blackmoon series. Very good and long - perhaps the longest game I have finished.

Solid conversion of a classic text adventure.

7. The Fortress of Fear

Denk says:

Episode 4 in the Alaric Blackmoon series, but the first written with ADRIFT. Also very good and very big.

8. Stone of Wisdom
by Kenneth Pedersen

Since I made this old-school puzzler myself, I have placed it on the list to reflect its relative IFcomp score. (Except from Larry Horsfields games which should take all places in top 5)

9. The Spectre of Castle Coris

Denk says:

The sequel to The Axe of Kolt - also very good.

10. Anno 1700

Another fine game by Larry Horsfield.

12. Son of Camelot, by Finn RosenlÝv (2012)

Nice game which unfortunately has a game killing bug near the end. Hopefully the author will release a fixed version soon.
