Catseye

by Dave Bernazzani profile

Episode 2 of Miniventures
Fantasy
2004

About the Story

Try to get a secret item from your Uncle Xevion's house.

Catseye was written to see what could be done with a 10K (10240 byte) Z-Machine file. It uses a custom library called MinForm which reduces the parser down to the bare essentials. The idea was to see how much game could be packed into so little space - simulating the constraints the pioneering authors of IF had in the earliest days.

SPAG
Straight-ahead Youthful Mystery-fantasy
The game possesses a pulp fiction or a Golden age comic book feel.
Your quest? Retrieve the necklace of your uncle Xevion from his
mysterious house. It's straight-ahead youthful mystery-fantasy.
