About the Story"Here you are, trying to survive yet another day in the big city with no money, no job and no hope. As you walk down the street in the government research project area, you suddenly see a sign reading: 'Volunteers needed for military research project! Do you want to make money? Do you want to help your country? Can you start at once? No special skills needed. Enter here.' Everything on the list sounds good to you, so you enter the door and sign up. That's when your nightmare begins..."

The screens-long opening serves as a fast-if-not-especially-believable way to get the character into the main thick of the action. Once there, the plot moves briskly through a storyline filled with in-jokes and almost-caricature NPCs... but it somehow remains fun and engaging.

The technical nature of the theme means that Enhanced contains terminology, jokes and concepts related to the genre, but they require little more than a basic understanding of computing and are generally straightforward to pick up, so you don't need to be a sys. admin. to get the gist of what's happening.
