About the Story

It really is so much fun being a germ. Not only do you travel the world from one flesh-sack to another, you get to meet your millions of relatives and breed. You have never been that sure what infection you are, but you are pretty sure it is something really nasty. Yes, you really can't beat being a germ.

Only this morning you began a new adventure, when your flesh-sack sneezed you onto the hand of another. Unfortunately you couldn't get through the skin and had nearly given up hope. When, your victim got a tiny cut on its hand poor thing!

Your objective? Infect every location you can find and then escape. How to infect? Find a weak point and 'infect' away.

Editorial Reviews

Baf's Guide

This short game is fun, and a bit on the silly side. You are a germ with the special ability to infect things. You are quite an enthusiastic germ, ever so eager to infect every part of your host that you can reach, exploiting whichever vulnerabilities you can find. Once you've infected everything, find a way to get to your next host.

Note that standard compass directions aren't used in this game. Just type the location you want to go to, eg: "ear", and you're there.

Review Compilation
This is a very short ADRIFT game, where you play a germ with the task to infect everything you can. The story is quite original and fun to play, but also easy enough to be finished in a matter of minutes.

Under implemented but with an interesting premise , July 4, 2010

I tend to be wary of ADRIFT games, because of the many parser imperfections and glitches that often come with them. But once in a while there comes an ADRIFT game that turns the stereotypes associated with ADRIFT games on their heads. This is not that game.

We are coming to get you! has a host of parser confusion and crudely implemented actions that take a lot of the enjoyment out of being a germ bent on infecting an unsuspecting human. And that’s a pity, because I actually liked this premise and I think that there is a lot of potential here for a great game. It’s a neat, original idea that just happened to be under implemented. The puzzles are all extremely linear, but great for IF beginners. If said beginners can get past the sparse environment, We are coming to get you! can become a good learning tool for those new to IF.

Some of the descriptions are just a little nauseating, but one would expect that since the PC is a germ. I didn’t mind playing through this game (which should take you no longer than three minutes) and I would like to see more from the author.
