You're saying "If you don't want to make games with a lot of freedom or background implementation, go CYOA instead of parser". That assumption is a bit south from the truth, and you'll probably be better served with a sentence like "This is yet another early game that shows the need for tools like Twine that let people write interactive stories focused on the storytelling aspect rather than a meticulous world model". Yeah, if you look at it one way, it's essentially what you said. But if you look at it another way, it isn't quite. ;) I remember trying to play this game. I struggled against the first puzzle, took a look at the walkthrough, and quit. I play every game - that doesn't mean I have to finish every game, especially not the ones that irritate me. Completionist yes, masoquist no. |
