The puzzle of this game is figuring out its menus. I played on easy mode with plenty of money, but I couldn't figure out how to buy the stuff I needed to keep my mood from falling rapidly to 0.

It's possible that figuring out the menus is supposed to be the point, somehow, but I don't think so… I think the game was trying to force me to consider trading off alternatives (money, power, mood). But since I couldn't really figure out the menus, I didn't get the opportunity to make those choices.

On the left, there's an interface to manage your solar power system. You can probably survive until the winter without managing this. Unfortunately, I didn't find the instructions on setting up the array completely useful.

(Spoiler - click to show)It seems you can just create a fairly large array early and never have to touch it for most the game. You can get to a win-state pretty easily by setting up an effective array in the summer, then just buying new batteries during the winter. This is obviously not the intended takeaway from #VanLife.

It seems certain events are completely randomized. If you do not have a heater before you start needing it at night, I don't think a player can survive more than three or four days. So if you are unlucky and do not have the opportunity to buy or review a heater, you will die.
