Baf's Guide

A grisly little story set in Victorian England. A well-to-do little girl has been killed in a botched kidnapping attempt, and you're the obvious suspect. So you have to hide the body, and worse. Short, shallowly implemented, involves regrettable behavior.

There are basically two versions of this game: the Amiga version, which uses a combination of a text-based menu and occasional point-and-click graphics, and the more recent Windows version, which has a completely point-and-click interface with photographic images, although the story is still mostly told through text. Neither interface affords a wide choice of actions. The two versions also have some differences in puzzles and plot -- notably, the Amiga version has the protagonist as the mastermind behind the kidnapping attempt, while the Windows version makes him an innocent bystander -- but they're ultimately variations on the same story.
