About the Story

In this small charming game, you play as a retired homeowner trying to protect your wife Martha's prize rosebush from an increasing horde of dragons before she and her horticulturally-minded friends arrive to admire it. Fortunately, these dragons are quite small and stupid, but there's only so much that one rosebush can take!

Baf's Guide

A short but charming effort. A series of dragons are landing in and wrecking your yard just before your party begins, so you need to defend your turf. Not as difficult as it sounds--these aren't especially imposing dragons--but fun. The game is a little misleading about what you need to do, though, so you may find that you've won before you expected.

SPAG
With a fairly solid structure, a simple premise, and some nice atmosphere, At The Bottom Of The Garden was probably the 2000 Dragoncomp game with the most substance. [...]

The game's few puzzles are nothing special although solid and logical. Experimenting with scenery and objects is a must and the only real drawback is finding that there are no alternate solutions to the few puzzles that there are. I think a few alternates could have been implemented with little difficulty as there are some parts of the garden that are richly described but have no apparent effect on the outcome of the game.

Short and fairly uncomplicated game, with a nice feeling of "oh noes" as the problem keeps escalating. It's worth persisting even if you feel that everything's got completely out of hand.

Dragons are a favorite in fantastic fiction, but they don't get as much love in I.F. as they used to. So, here's a list of games that portray these mythological beasts.

Fun single-room games by Jeff Sonas
My kids (9 and 12) like to play IF games on my phone during car drives so they are looking for something quick and fun that doesn't require much mapping. What single-room adventures are out there?
