About the Story

Rider In the Mist is a short, though hopefully entertaining, evocative, dark, violent and devious sword and sorcery game. It requires that the player make choices throughout, resulting in various outcomes (grisly or otherwise).

If you want to know more about this game, please see these posts in my blog (via my website): RoyMathur.com/Blog

Enjoy playing and Happy New Year!

Nice, but needs more meat., January 2, 2015

This by all means wasn't bad, but it wasn't extraordinary either. I understand you were trying to show different POV's of the situation, but once you did one you've done them all, really. I did find the "true" ending, but even that left something to be wanted.

It would have been better if the characters weren't so obviously linked, like maybe have a different demon's perspective, or someone from the royal family. This game didn't really give any true choices, it was either do it the right way or die.

All in all, you have a nice thing going, just try to put more substance into it.

Style, but not much substance., January 2, 2015

If you like dark, bloody sword-and-sorcery, you might enjoy the writing style. The story, though, is underwhelming and uncompelling.

Structurally, the game's choices either make no difference or lead you to a dead end and restarting from the sidebar. The goal is to feel your way through those dead ends, over repeated restarts and playthroughs, to (Spoiler - click to show)the mystery fourth character and his short, choiceless vignette. Each playthrough was mercifully short, but this still became tedious.

I suppose that's one way to convey multiple POVs, but still.
