Talentless Hack, by Tami Baribeau
Good, relatable debut, January 17, 2014
by Chad Comeau (Canada)

Talentless Hack deals with self-confidence and motivation, things that any creator has to face at some point. The formatting could have been improved(Spoiler - click to show) (merely a suggestion, seeing as I had the same problem: empty spaces where past choices were can be removed by placing the extra spaces inside the 'if' condition). Also, even though the middle of the game contains choices, they don't affect the story progression. This is nonetheless a great debut Twine with a cool theme. Keep it up :)

A Twine that does it right, January 10, 2014
by Chad Comeau (Canada)

Although I felt kind of down after playing (which means the game was effective, I guess!), I really liked how the choices show you what that person was considering in each situation. The game is well-written and detailed. It's a little long, but juuuust as I was wondering when it would end, it ended.

They avoided mentioning protagonist's gender, but not the partner's, which was a little weird. But that's not really a big issue. I'm nitpicking.

I had written an article about mental health in games, and Depression Quest is the perfect example of doing it right: using video games' interactivity and representational power to help people better understand mental health! I hope we'll start to see more games like DQ. (http://www.fringfrangblog.com/2013/08/mental-health-in-videogames.html)

Solid Twine, January 9, 2014

Aesthetically pleasing and interesting. Captures the office vibe pretty damn well! There are 10 endings too, although I haven't played them all. My first 2 playthroughs ended the same way even though I tried to get a different ending. Give this pretty little Twine a play, it's well worth your time.

Great use of choice, January 8, 2014

Fun and interesting story!

I was pleasantly surprised at how choice affected the narrative in this game. It's awesome when interactivity and narrative come together to form new plot devices. Definitely got me thinking differently about IF.

The experience is also quite polished: the text is large and easy to read, and the background images help set the tone. Anna's signature style is prominent, which is a good thing for fans of her other work.

One of my favourite Twine games as of yet.
