About the Story

Reigns: Game of Thrones is the heir to the award-winning HBO TV series Game of Thrones and the smash-hit swipe ‘em up series Reigns from Nerial and Devolver Digital.

Through the fiery visions of Melisandre, claim the Iron Throne as Cersei Lannister, Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and more to carefully navigate the complex relationships and hostile factions of the Seven Kingdoms.

A fun reflection on power and corruption. Yes, it has dragons too.
Reigns: Game of Thrones’ simplicity is both deceptive and instructional. As an experience, it’s a lot of fun. But it also reveals the dismal truth about leadership and power, the cheapness of its transactional, provisional, compromising nature. This is a fact of life, whether you’re the first of the Andals, or you’re Vicky, who runs the accounts department at a knicker factory in Lancashire.

"a bloody riot"
It might look slight, but there are hours of schemes, conversations and grisly deaths tucked away in this game. Broadening your choice of rulers takes some time, and even the same situations play out differently when Tyrion is in charge rather than Sansa, especially when you’re playing in character. It’s great fun to step into the unenviable position of Ruler of the Seven Kingdoms, and a far more enjoyable way to pass the time until the HBO series’ conclusion than combing through the books again

"left me a bit flat"
If you don’t know the show you probably won’t want to bother playing this one. If you do know the show, you can have a little fun running things and one-upping yourself to see how long you can reign. If you tire of beating yourself, there is a two-player mode so you can pummel an opponent. Even for fans of the show, this game is not exactly “exciting” (as mentioned, my coworker GoT fans gave it a lukewarm response).
