Beautiful Presentation, April 12, 2013
by Danielle (The Wild West)

Didn't want to rate this--it felt more like branching poetry to me (so I may not be the ideal audience)--but I enjoyed the choice of text styling and "special effect lighting" done on the text enough that I wanted to comment. Easy on the eyes, with a glow effect that makes it special.

I kind of feel the same way. He announced it as a 'game' -- not that it really matters, but after I read it I felt oddly disappointed that it wasn't a game! Clearly it is a creative and thoughtful work, I just wish saying 'here is my new CYOA work' didn't sound so strange.

Yes, the "game" label on a work like this is problematic, in that that label sets up an expectation of cause-effect interactivity, rather than just "Oh! Discovering a new path of words!" without any changing. Not the piece's fault, and it's tricky in this genre when IF are almost always labeled as "games." But this one's definitely on the Interactive Fiction side of the label (vs Text Adventure Game).

Maybe 'branching narrative piece'? Labels are awkward...
