Extremely well polished college game with a great innovation; didn't gel for me, February 3, 2016by MathBrush In this game, you must write your dissertation while overcoming many distractions. You must use various items in the room to block out sound, sight, itchiness, etc. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No Remove vote | Add a comment

Highly Polished, Endlessly Inventive, Funny, Cruel, and Exquisitely Relatable, March 12, 2015by Matt W (San Diego, CA) I was looking for a quick game to test out an IF interpreter (Text Fiction) on my Kindle. I knew Violet was a one-room game, so thought it would be a good test. Little did I know I'd be playing what may be my favorite IF game so far. Was this review helpful to you? Hilarious!, December 28, 2014by rfopsh I love all the extras and the fact that the premise and setting are so unique compared to most games. The humor is wacky and unpredictable and so are the solutions. Good length too. I loved every second. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No Remove vote | Add a comment

Charming, Funny, Heartwarming Fun. A Must., December 10, 2014by Sensei_Pong (aka. The Reading Gamer) (U.S.A.) Related reviews: "Violet" "Sensei Pong" "Sensei_Pong" Your girlfriend you dearly love has given you an ultimatum. Write 1,000 words for your dissertation, or she's leaving you forever to go back to her home country of Australia, 1,000s of miles away... Was this review helpful to you? Best one room IF, March 2, 2013by Coldfinger (Germany) This is a game that not only excells in one regard. The plot is quite unique and the implementation is great, the prose is fun to read and the puzzles are not too difficult to stop the flow of the story while being not too easy to make this an interactive story instead of a game. The number of funny remarks you get when doing something wrong or trying to do something that doesn't work make even failing worthwhile. Never was able to put it into an unwinable state and I don't think this is possible. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No Remove vote | Add a comment

Strong characters but unenjoyable world, December 25, 2012by Andromache (Hawaii) This is not a true review. More like impressions after partial game completion. Note: this rating is not included in the game's average. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No Remove vote | View comments (1) - Add comment

Very Fun, Very Cute, Very Funny, September 16, 2012by Petrichor For those who haven't played, "Violet" is a game about your character, who has an upcoming deadline--but is too distract to get the writing done. Your job is to remove the distractions and get to writing. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No Remove vote | Add a comment

Witty, fun and challenging, April 29, 2012by Janos Honkonen (Helsinki, Finland) Violet was an awesome find - it manages to combine romance, slice of life, somewhat darkish comedy and one room puzzle action in a pretty impressive way. The prose and the tone of the "dialogue" and the descriptions is witty and a delight to read. The puzzles are pretty out there, but solvable, especially with the well implemented hint system. Both the puzzles and the story lead up to a pretty delightful and nutty ending. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No Remove vote | Add a comment

I belly laughed, April 28, 2012The game starts of with the simple premise of needing to write a thousand words but your procrastination gets the better of you. I have a final on Monday and two others in the coming week, to describe what I'm doing playing this game as procrastinating would be generous. Was this review helpful to you?
