I discovered the 8-bit 48k Atari 800 in my first year of law school. Believe it or not, I used it for writing my papers for classes and law review using a word processor that first was cassette-based and later disk drive-based (5 1/4" floppies). My Atari was probably the single most important equipment I had that helped me survive law school. Not just with research and writing, but more importantly going exploring with INFOCOM! If it was 3:00 in the morning, it was likely not 1st year Trusts and Estates. It was more likely Zork. Followed by Starcross, Planetfall, and various other delicious interactive fiction delights. P.S. I passed the Bar on my first try and have been in practice as a trial attorney for over 25 years, so I guess any time spent playing Atari games during those 3 years of law school didn't hurt too much. (p.s. > LOOK UNDER THE RUG. )
