About the Story

Questprobe adventure number 1.

Author Note: Originally the last of the 2 word (Verb/Noun) SAGA based games. Spiderman was next written using SAGA+, a mutli-word parser engine.

The Hulk gets taken to a surreal otherworld for his testing by the Chief Examiner, and must find a way to survive in this alien environment while collecting a number of Gems. Noteworthy if only for the sheer number of times a certain command must be used.
Converted from original code by Paul David Doherty.

Editorial Reviews

Crash

"My only criticism of this fine adventure is the repetitiveness that sets in once you’ve established the object of the game. As you move around collecting gems each of the three domes becomes indistinguishable as each is represented by the same graphic. To leave each dome the same routine is painstakingly followed.

The Hulk is a truly marvellous adventure with super graphics and a theme familiar to everyone."

Weak First Entry, November 15, 2019

Playing as The Hulk in a text adventure should be a lot of fun, liberating the player from the usual weakness of early IF protagonists, who often complain that they can't do this, that or the other, usually in regard to matters of physical strength. Sadly, this game, the first in the unfinished Questprobe series, makes little use of the main character's powers. You die in absurd ways, floundering through a very small area filled with annoyingly difficult, often unfair puzzles. The next adventure, starring Spider-Man, fared much better, but this one is a skip.

Games part of an unfinished series by Jonathan Blask
I think it is both funny and interesting when games bill themselves as "Part # in the [blank] series" (and other games are never written). It is fun to speculate what directions those future games may have gone. This poll is a memorial...

Your very first game. by DustyCypress
Do you still remember when you played your very first IF? How did you get drawn (and perhaps addicted) to IF and have been playing still? What was the title that started it all for you? I started with a collection called "The Adventure...
