About the Story"A woman's voice crackles over the intercom of the Boeing 797 you are strapping yourself into securely. You've never traveled in space before, and the prospect has been turning your guts inside out since you reluctantly had your parents sign the permission slip. You take time to ponder: What will you find on Mars? What has humanity done with the landscape? Who have they trampled in the process? Game Details

24th Place - 7th Annual Interactive Fiction Competition (2001)
Standard-issue science fiction--you're a kid visiting Mars--but reasonably polished, especially considering it's a homebrew parser. Lots of puzzles, but most aren't all that hard. The game occasionally closes off without warning, however, so save often.

2112 is a slick piece of work, and it didn't need TADS or Inform in order to be as richly interactive as it needed to be. What it did need, however, was to take a few lessons from the game design ethos that the IF community has evolved alongside its development systems.

This is a long and well-polished game, but it has a number of difficult features, like items you have to take at the right time or you'll be closed off forever, a maze, etc.
It felt somewhat tedious to play through. It had a teenage girl that loves swearing; in fact, it's one of her main characteristics.
Interesting, but ultimately not one I'd replay.
