IF about human beings - an IFDB Poll

by namekuseijin
RSS Feed

I'm looking for IF about human beings and human struggles in a more or less common setting. No zombies, vampires, orcs, demons, robots, slimy aliens, gods or monsters of any kind; just plain human beings please. Yes, I know many works employ some poetic license to depict other fellow humans as some of those, but I want human stories.

I believe it'd be the exact opposite of this old poll:

namekuseijin says: yes, I know it's a fine static fiction, but not interactive at all

namekuseijin says: not particularly fond of this, but yes, very humane. Short wrote many terrific works of IF, but I fear most of them fall outside of the scope of this poll. I really wish I could put Counterfeit Monkey here, because there's inherently a very human story underlying all the puzzles, mechanical devices and the rich fantasy setting, even though people often overlook past it...

namekuseijin says: although not fond of the one-move genre, there's quite a lot of substance in going through several perhaps different days in the life of a man while walking down an aisle...

namekuseijin says: well, there are quite a few supernatural-looking things going on here, but they are mostly just backdrop to the main road-side story between the 3 friends

namekuseijin says: I find this short vignette about a tourist in a Parisian cafe terribly engaging and the puzzles nicely integrated into solving the awkward social situation. Funny, witty, nicely written, though not deep by any means...
