Games with Difficult Puzzles and a Forgiveness Rating of Tough or Lower - an IFDB Poll

While searching for games that were difficult, I found many games that had a very unforgiving forgiveness rating, which I don't find very appealing. I do like puzzles, however, so I would be interested in finding games with challenging puzzles that do not also challenge the player's ability to juggle save states.

Try to avoid "moon logic" puzzles if possible. If you include a game with "moon logic" puzzles (e.g. the game is good enough for the player to tolerate a few of them), it would be nice if you could note it as such.

What do you mean by "moon logic" puzzles?

For me, "moon logic" puzzles are puzzles whose solution requires a line of thinking so out of this world that one is just left staring at the puzzle, wondering how any sane person would be able to figure out the answer without resorting to a guide. I hope you don't think I mean a genuinely hard puzzle, what I mean is a poorly designed puzzle that is 'difficult' in a bad way. It's a TVTropes reference, though my definition is probably actually closer to the site's "Guide Dang It" page.

I hope this answers your question! If not, I can try to elaborate more.

Thanks.

How do you feel about games that are intended to be played several times (rather than save-state juggling) until you get the right outcome?

I'm actually not sure how I feel about them. If you have one in mind, why not put it down anyway, noting that it is a game meant to be replayed over and over again, so that people who find this poll in the future will have more options from which to choose?

Thanks!
