Vast but not Cruel - an IFDB Poll

I'd like to see games that are long and spacious, yet aren't Cruel (or very Nasty) on the Zarfian scale. Essentially, games that the main reason for saving is for time or the occasional timed part.

Apocolocyntosis is mostly forgiving, but there's no way it's Polite; there is, for instance, an entire region with the sole purpose of making the game unwinnable if you enter it. (There are warnings about this beforehand; depending on how effective you think they are, it's somewhere between a Tough and a Nasty.)

I was aware of that, actually; I meant that excepting those instances it would count as Polite. I can see how that could be misunderstood, though, and since Cruelty is mostly a measure of the cruelest part of the game, I'll probably rewrite my statement to be clearer.

More importantly, this is showing me how hard it is to guess the Cruelty of games, especially if you can't (or just don't care to) play them. Was it possible to make Dr. M unwinnable? Never got very far into that one but it was pretty expansive from what I played.

How long would you like these to be? Like, at the higher end of IF Comp length, or more like Curses length? I know a couple Comp games that run right against the two-hour-limit (Babel is one of them), so I'm checking to see if these recommendations would be appreciated.

Leaning more towards Curses length, but long IF Comp is fine.
