Lore: A Tale of a Sword and Those Who Wielded It, by T. Y. Vaught
An Interesting Game, February 8, 2017

When I first figuratively picked up this game I had high hopes, as at the beginning the writer said the game took almost a year to make. Plus, the game was obviously pretty interactive as you had three different possible endings to get to. Naturally I though that these endings would be (as they mostly are in these types of games):

-A good ending, caused by your kindness and good deeds throughout the game
-An alright ending that was slightly disappointing caused by you not making all the right decisions but not all the wrong ones
-An awful ending in which you usually end up slaughtered, imprisoned or worse due to your entire lack for human life

However, only shortly into my quest for option 1 I suddenly became slightly bored. I realised what the author was then trying to do- flash me through time to different events in which the sword took part in. But this technique leaves many questions unanswered at first: why did this character leave his wife to kill these guys? What ritual was this character trying to perform? Who am I?

Sadly, this technique that could have been used to the writer's advantage initially makes you lose interest in this game.

I should have known that this game, with an average of less than three stars was going to be bad. But no, it was even worse than I could possibly imagine. Yep. I can't really say much without spoilers, so

(Spoiler - click to show)You start the game by making a brand new blog so that you can review- wait for it.... Curtain rails. Yep. Playing this game is basically looking at a bunch of passages of text talking about what ratings you gave different rails. Even if you never look at the comments, you loose. Most of the time when you try to look at the comments, it won't let you. At the very end you look at the comments and it turns out they were all spam-bot comments. Hurray.

Never play this game.

Zombies... Cliche ideas... Yay..., September 25, 2013

I played to first game yesterday and reviewed it, but this game is pretty much identical. Although it's cool to feel like you are choosing your path, you can't do anything to change the direction of the story. It's worth playing once, but it's not that great.

Meh...., September 24, 2013

This game is alright, but the easy to win gameplay makes for a five minute game at the longest.

(Spoiler - click to show)You start off getting knocked out by a truck and awake three days later. You see a truck with army people in it and so on... No matter what you do, one of the soldiers dies and no matter what you do you survive. Oh well.

This game was one of the games that caught my attention, and both detective and examination skills are required to solve this one.The interactions are relatively open-world, but you can't ask everyone about everything, after all.

The game starts off on a low note, it is late at night, and you are reluctantly driving to the house where the crime was committed. The amount you can interact with suspects is amazing, and asking people about the same thing will always end up with you getting different opinions, and one person will give you a clue or two. It kept me going for hours and I loved playing Inspector. But be careful, the game is harder than it looks!

The game takes a few playing sessions, and if you are stuck there is a built in >HELP command, and this gives you hints. It's suitable for first-time gamers, as well! The only way to win is by focusing on statements of all suspects. Enjoy! I did.
